The Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE), founded in 1917, is a top-ranked, world-renowned research university. As the first financial university in China, SUFE has developed its own spirit over the years. SUFE places much emphasis on being industrious and making contributions to society. In 2000, the university became subordinate to the Ministry of Education and it is now jointly developed by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. SUFE has been selected as one of the key universities in China’s “211 Project”, a national state-sponsored program to foster the development of outstanding Chinese universities.
After generations of hard work and unremitting efforts, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics has become a multi-disciplinary key university that focuses on finance and economics and maintains coordinated development in economics, management, law, arts and science. Internationalization has been consistently pursued as a strategy for the operation of SUFE for more than one hundred years. Since the establishment of the university in 1917, the founders and pioneers have been seeking to combine modern Western business education with the national conditions of China as a new way to train local business talent. In recent years, the university has fully implemented the Global SUFE strategy, absorbing advanced educational concepts and experience from international higher education and adopting an international perspective to promote reform in education and teaching. There are over 1,000 international students from 104 different countries studying at SUFE today.

This is a four-week intensive Chinese language course that will significantly improve your ability to speak, listen, read and write Chinese.
Chinese Culture Course
China is a vast country with some 5000 years of history and a very unique culture. To help you better understand China the course will provide you with a series of culture activities to add more value to your time studying at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. These culture activities will include learning about the famous Chinese tea ceremony, the Peking Opera, Chinese Calligraphy and the Shanghai Dialect.
HSK Mock Test
If you want to know how much your Chinese language ability will improve over the month-long program, then you can take an HSK mock exam at the end of the course.
The HSK test (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) is a standardized test at the state level. SUFE are one of the national test centers in Shanghai and hold numerous HSK tests very year.
After the intensive Chinese language course, several weekend tours of Shanghai will be arranged and the nearby cities.
Shanghai, is located on China’s central coast, and is the country's largest city and a global financial hub. Shanghai, literally means 'Above the Sea', and it is a port city on the Huangpu River, where the Yangtze River pours into the East China Sea. The city serves as the most dominant economic, financial, international trade, and cultural center in East China. Also it is a famous travel destination for tourists to sense the lively development of the country.
Currently, there are over 23 million people living in Shanghai. The city contributes greatly to the whole nation's economic structure. Due to its outstanding port, Shanghai has been a primary power of China's economic and trade development since ancient times. Spreading over only 0.06% of the country's land area, Shanghai now creates about 8.3% of China's gross industrial output value and 12.5% of the total revenue of China.
Participants will enjoy a comfortable double room on campus. The dormitory building for international students is located in Zhongshan Beiyi Road Campus. It is only 3 minutes’ walk from the nearest metro station (Line 3) and 15 minutes’ walk from Hongkou Plaza.
